The two-day Convention of Society of Entrepreneurs and Ecology Conservation (SEE) 2021 was held in the city of Nanchang, Jiangxi from December 12 to December 13. On behalf of 3TREES, Mr. Zhang Ameng, Regional Director of Home Decorative Paints Division, received the awards of Generous Donor, Supporter of Sea Turtle Release Program, Golden Spike, and Golden Bee from SEE in a gathering of over a hundred entrepreneurs and representatives from NGOs and media to celebrate SEE’s achievements in environmental protection charity programs in this year.

On July 28, 2021, 11 rescued sea turtles were released back to the sea, including Little Baby, Steady, Romantic Companion, Diving Bird, after being cured and rehabilitated in Nanwan Hou Island, Hainan. 3TREES’s role in the Sea Turtle Release Program has been acclaimed by Beijing Entrepreneur Environmental Protection Foundation (SEE Foundation) and the society. At the awards ceremony, SEE Foundation presented the awards of Generous Donor, Supporter of Sea Turtle Release Program to 3TREES, as well as Golden Spike and Golden Bee awards to Ms. Hong Shengbao, head of 3TREES Beauty Product Division[A1]  and founder of the nail polish brand illombo, in appreciation of 3TREES and Ms. Hong's constant care and support for various SEE public welfare programs.

As a member of SEE since 2015, 3TREES has cooperated with SEE Foundation on 100 Million Saxaul Trees Program since 2016, for which we make annual designated donations to help reforest 2 million mu of desert with desert plants, primarily saxaul trees. 3TREES has pledged to committed to donate a total of no less than 5 million saxaul trees to help grow an 800-kilometer green barrier in Alxa League, hoping to reverse desertification and improve the living standards of local herders (as they will make profits from saxaul trees). Up to now, 3TREES has planted 2.55 million saxaul trees in Alxa.

Meanwhile, as an SEE member, 3TREES has built an Internet-based public service partnership with Alipay Ant Forest. As part of Ant Forest’s Blue Planet Plan, 3TREES encourages netizens to claim to protect those millions of 3TREES-donated saxaul trees in virtual ways, and contribute to the tree-planting efforts in 3TREES-sponsored public welfare forest in Ant Forest. In addition, 3TREES has organized several trips to Alxa, inviting our employees, partners, customers and volunteers to participate in the tree-planting activity of “Long Planting Journey with One Heart and One Mind”. These activities made it possible for 3TREES to involve the public in its100 Million Saxaul Trees Program.

Besides, 3TREES joined hands with SEE Foundation and took part in Tencent’s “99 Public Welfare Day” for consecutive six years. During the event from September 5 to September 9, apart from encouraging our employees to make donations online, 3TREES invited Wu Dajing and Gu Ailing, its brand ambassadors, and Chinese National Short Track Speed Skating Team, its brand partner, to do good deeds with us, injecting positive energy into the society. Also, CPC committee at 3TREES organized a “Revisit the Long March” activity with a theme of “Red Engine: Party Building in 3TREES”. Party members and employees are called on to take a charity walk to support the 100 Million Saxaul Trees Program. This activity perfectly demonstrates 3TREES members’ passion for public good, a better life, and a greener homeland.

This year, 3TREES has also launched a program of reforestation in giant panda habitats, with a plan to plant 8,000 deciduous broad-leaved trees, covering about 150 mu of land, in the giant panda corridor of Niba Mountain in Yingjing Area of the Giant Panda National Park. Each tree is estimated to generate 0.0077 tons of carbon sink per year, which means a carbon sink of about 1,848 tons over a 30-year crediting period. This move will no doubt help to protect giant pandas and their habitats, purify the air, conserve water, prevent soil erosion, and maintain soil fertility, contributing to carbon fixation, oxygen production, and ecological balance as a whole.
